When the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (Nat. ARVC) launched its Plan-it-Green Friendly awards competition in 2007, relatively few private parks were promoting their efforts to use recycled materials or conserve water and energy.

As the summer season creeps up, the grass starts to grow and those upgrade projects get rolling, do you think it might be time for an equipment upgrade? Keeping your campground maintained is no small task, and having the right tools makes every project easier.

More and more campers are using online websites to help plan camping vacations or weekend getaways. Per ARVC’s 2021 Generational Camping Report, three in four respondents state they use an online search to find the right campground. The report also reveals that 80% of Millennials are the most likely to use an online tool, followed by 73% of Gen Xers and 63% of the Boomer/Silent Generations. About half of the respondents (46%) prefer to book their campground completely online.

eBikes are quickly gaining popularity with campers and RVers of all ages, and campground owners nationwide are finding they can increase ancillary revenue by offering eBike rentals as a new amenity.

Campers, travelers, snowbirds, RVers, families, friends, hikers, bikers, thrill-seekers, or those just looking to get away: however you identify them, they're visitors to your park. And this year holds much potential for what visitors want and what our industry can deliver.

Come February it isn't so much a new year anymore. So far this year the National ARVC Public Affairs team has already reviewed over 3,000 bills. We'd been anticipating an increase in federal and state bill introductions and carryovers in 2023, and it's delivering so far. This increase is due to all states being in legislative session, as well as a change in the complexion of the House and Senate following the midterms.
