The ARVC Foundation is making a limited number of scholarships available for the National School this year. Scholarship applications and supporting materials must be received by March 1.

“In 2021, The ARVC Foundation is pleased to continue its mission of helping to bring education to those in the outdoor hospitality industry,” says Cyndy Zbierski, ARVC Foundation chairman. “With events occurring in virtual classrooms for now, the need for some to have monetary assistance to attend has not changed. The ARVC Foundation is proud to offer scholarship assistance to applicants wishing to attend The National School of RV Park Campground Management in March.”

In 2019, Dave Myers, OHM, park manager for ARVC member-park Cliffside RV Park in Oak Harbor, Wash. was one of the ARVC Foundation’s four scholarship recipients. The scholarship enabled him to complete the first week of the two-week program.

“It meant a whole lot,” he says, “because it wasn’t in our budget at the time to send anybody. I came back with a bunch of new ideas and different ways of doing things that I had never thought of doing. I had been managing the park here for nine years at that time, and I came away learning just how much I didn’t know!”

Heather Blankenship, OHM, owner of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Pigeon Forge in Gatlinburg, Tenn. also receive a tuition scholarship.

“The National School helped me organize my business, and I left full of ideas to take that energy back to my park,” she says. “This continuing education from ARVC gave me some valuable insight from some of the great minds in our industry.”

“It is the goal of the ARVC Foundation Trustees to offer a fair and user-friendly application process that allows it to grant scholarships throughout the year to those wishing to further their education in the RV park and campground industry,” Zbierski says. “Whether it be at an ARVC Prospective Owners Workshop, National School or ARVC’s annual Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo, the ARVC Foundation is here to help improve the industry by helping individuals gain access to further education and enhanced skills.”
