Meet Your 2023 Takeaway Tour Hosts

Small But Mighty Has Never Been More True

Small but mighty has never been more true than when it comes to our OHCE2023 Takeaway Tour host parks! Takeaway Tours offer a unique hands-on experience where attendees can gain insights and a behind-the-scenes look at the nuts and bolts of operating a park day-to-day. This year tours for both current owners and prospective owners will be visiting two KC favorites: Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA and Peculiar Park Place RV Park. As we take you on these tours, you can look forward to taking away incredibly valuable information to use in your future business operations. (See what we did there?)

Small parks have a unique position in the Outdoor Hospitality industry as they operate with smaller teams. Small park owners consistently interact with guests and their surrounding communities and bring a passion to park ownership that is important for all future and current owners to witness. Getting insight into how a small park team does it all will not only inspire you in your upcoming seasons but they have their hand in every system necessary to run their park, so you’ll be guaranteed that hands-on experience.

Takeaway Tours will take place on Monday, November 6, and can be purchased as an add-on to registration for only $299.

A short drive from downtown Kansas City, Peculiar Park Place RV Park, offers the perfect balance between peaceful rural living and easy access to urban conveniences serving as a great base for exploring the many attractions in the greater metro area. These attractions include Chiefs football or Royals baseball, the Kansas Speedway, and the many dining, shopping, and entertainment options throughout the city. Peculiar Park Place RV Park boasts many amenities, including spacious, full-hookup RV sites, modern facilities, and a well-stocked convenience store, bird watching and wildlife viewing, as well as hiking, complimentary Wi-Fi and they’re pet friendly. Whether they’re passing through or planning an extended stay, Peculiar Park Place RV Park offers a perfectly balanced rural/urban experience to its guests that tour attendees will get to experience.

Takeaway Tour attendees will get a look at a franchised park at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA as well. Just moments away from the origin point of the Oregon Trail, this scenic KOA site boasts a variety of fantastic amenities, making it the perfect destination for a brief stopover, an extended stay, or an entire vacation retreat. Apart from standard campsites and RV sites, they offer camping cabins, deluxe cabins, and covered wagons so tour attendees will get to see how these unique accommodations really add to a guest's stay options. Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA offers exciting activities like gem and fossil panning, hunting for sharks' teeth at the Horseshoe Creek Mining Sluice, a colossal jump pad, or even mini golf. They’ve also got 4-wheel pedal bikes for all ages with a well-maintained paved racetrack.
